The Nine Muses

The Nine Muses explores the ancient Greek concept of divine inspiration through sculptural form. In this series, the mythological figures of the Muses—deities who, according to legend, guided creativity and knowledge across the arts, literature, and science—are reinterpreted through a contemporary lense.

Working intuitively with clay, four of the nine Muses have been sculpted in clay—Polyhymnia, Calliope, Clio, and Erato—each embodying a distinct creative force. The busts emerge as contemporary relics, bridging the ephemeral nature of inspiration with the permanence of fired clay. Through subtle gestures and textural details, the works evoke a quiet dialogue between mythology and the artist’s own creative process.

This ongoing series reflects an enduring fascination with the unseen forces that shape artistic expression—whether divine, psychological, or deeply personal.
